Shia LaBeouf has been a controversial figure in Hollywood and continues to be one even to this day.

The Honey Boy actor, in a recent interview, opened about his struggles with mental health issues, the controversies he has courted so far and how a certain low-point in his life had him contemplate suicide.

Talking about the time when the 'world' around him had started to 'crumble', Shia LaBeouf recalled how he had gone 'nuclear' with no one calling him, not even his own mother. He further revealed that he was completely out of business and was ready to get 'outta here'.

"Nobody wants to talk to me, including my mother. The manager’s not calling. The agent’s not calling. I’m not connected to the business anymore... I had a gun on the table. I was outta here," Shia LaBeouf told Bishop Robert Barron during the course of the interview, as reported by Us Weekly

The actor, who has been embroiled in a who-fired-whom tussle with the director of Don't Worry Darling Olivia Wilde, said that the shame he felt from all those troubling experiences was something he had 'never experienced before' and 'forgot to breathe'.

“I didn’t want to be alive anymore when all this happened... You don’t know where to go. You can’t go outside and get like, a taco," LaBeouf added.

In a recent Variety exclusive interview, Olivia Wilde disclosed that she was forced to fire Shia LaBeouf from the film due to his ‘combative energy’ on the sets which, she adds, threatened to jeopardize the safety and trust of the whole crew. However, there’s a small twist in the tale as LaBeouf denies being fired from the project and insists that he quit on his own accord.

Responding to the same Variety piece via email, Shia LaBeouf shared that he was compelled to quit the production of Don’t Worry Darling because of the ‘lack of rehearsal time' ahead of the shoot. Claiming that he voluntarily walked out of the production on August 17, 2020, and that he communicated with director Olivia Wilde about the same around the same time to eventually arrive at a mutual decision.

Shia LaBeouf would share the screenshots with Variety of the text messages sent to Wilde. The same messages (dating back to Aug. 2020), as per the latest Variety story, reveal that both Wilde and LaBeouf met in person to talk things over but only in vain as the latter would back out of the project soon after.

The Disturbia actor is currently facing a lawsuit filed against by his ex-girlfriend, singer FKA Twigs, who has accused him of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress.
