Shivarajkumar approached to play a key role in Thalaivar 169, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar?

We had earlier reported that Superstar Rajinikanth will be teaming up with Nelson Dilipkumar of Beast-fame. Tentatively titled Thalaivar 169, the film, bankrolled by Sun Pictures, is expected to go on floors in August. Grapevine has it that Shivarajkumar has been approached to play a prominent role in the film. However, we await an official confirmation.

A report published by the Cinema Express says Nelson, of course, has been in talks with the Kannada actor for the film. In the coming days, we can expect Nelson to reach Bengaluru and have elaborate discussions with the Bhajarangi actor. It is no secret that Rajinikanth has great regard for the Rajkumar family. And, in case Shivarajkumar agrees to come on board, this will be his debut film in Tamil.

Rumours were abuzz that Karthik Subbaraj had approached Shivarajkumar for an important role in Vikram's Mahaan. A report published in the News Minute read, "Both Shivanna and Vikram have equally important roles. The story narration went extremely well and everyone seemed positive. Shivanna has asked for a couple of days to revert with his decision whether he will do the film or not!" We guess Karthik had approached Shivarajkumar for the role, played by Bobby Simhaa.

Though the makers of Thalaivar 169 are finalising the cast members, for now, we hear that Priyanka Mohan, who made her Tamil debut in Nelson's sophomore film, Doctor, will be playing the actor's daughter.

Rajinikanth was last seen in Siva's Annaatthe, which was also produced by Sun Pictures. The family drama also starred Keerthy Suresh and Nayanthara and was met with a mixed response at the box office.

Meanwhile, Shivarajkumar is awaiting the release of Bairagee. Also, the actor’s next is with director Yogaraj Bhat and is set to commence production this month.
