Century Star Shivarajkumar’s next release is the Vijay Milton directorial Bairagee, produced by Krishna Sarthak. The film, which also stars Dhananjaya, Pruthvi Ambaar, Chikkanna, Yasha Shivakumar and Anjali, among others, in pivotal roles, is expected to hit theatres soon. In the meantime, though, the team is set to release the film’s teaser. While there was buzz that the teaser would be played along with Puneeth Rajkumar’s James, Shivarajkumar confirmed the same, adding, “March 17 is Appu’s birthday. His film, James, is releasing on that day and all theatres screening it will play the teaser of my movie, Bairagee, as well. We are dedicating this to Appu,” said Shivarajkumar in a video message.
Bairagee, which is Shivarajkumar’s 123rd film, is the Kannada remake of the Tamil film Asuran, which had Dhanush in the lead. The team of the Kannada version has maintained that while the main plot remains the same, they’ve made a lot of changes to the narrative to suit the sensibilities of audiences here, as well as Shivarajkumar’s onscreen image.
The film, which marks Vijay’s Kannada cinema debut, has music by Anoop Seelin and has Anjali return to Sandalwood after the 2015 Puneeth-starrer Ranavikrama. Filming of Bairagee was completed in mid-January with a song choreographed by Murali master that features the principal cast of the film. The teaser release marks the beginning of promotions for the team, who are looking at a suitable date to bring the film to theatres.
Meanwhile, producer Krishna Sarthak has already announced his next project, which will be Duniya Vijay’s 28th film and his second directorial, called Bheema. This film will go on floors once Vijay completes his commitment as villain in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s untitled next, which is being called NBK107.
