Shraddha Kapoor is gearing up to make her return to the silver screen soon, with Luv Ranjan’s yet to be titled film. The actres, who has been a part of Bollywood for over a decade now, feels that the industry has witnessed positive change since she made her debut in 2010’s Teen Patti.
In conversation with Hindustan Times, the actress spoke of how she had witnessed a lot of changes in the industry since starting out, especially when it came to female actors. Shraddha said that a lot of films these days feature the actresses as the driving point of the story, and movies are being made from a female gaze.
In addition to women headlining a number of films these days, the movies are also being written in a ‘layered’ way and are creating a desirable impact. “It’s a great time for women in Indian cinema”, she said.
Elaborating upon the lessons she learnt during her time in the industry, Shraddha said that one of the biggest takeaways from her journey is that change was always a constant. She spoke of how important it was for actors to always keep evolving, growing, learning and unlearning. The actress added that she wanted to keep improving her as a person, and also help make the world a bit better each day as well.
On the huge following she has raked up on social media, the actress said that she felt overwhelmed and grateful for all the love she received from her fans and followers. She revealed that she regularly went through the various reels and social media posts her fans make of her, calling them ‘precious’.
The actress will next be seen in Luv Ranjan’s untitled film opposite Ranbir Kapoor. She also has Vishal Furia’s Naagin film in the pipeline as well.
