Sibiraj’s Ranga is all set to hit screens on May 13. The makers of the film announced the news on their social media handle today evening. They wrote, “After a Long wait @Sibi_Sathyaraj's #Ranga to hit the screens On May 13th! #RangaFromMay13 @Nikhilavimal1 @actorsathish Dir by @DLVINOD Prod by @VijayKCelliah@BOSSmovies_Offl @RamjeevanMD ✂️ @AntonyLRuben @dhilipaction @iam_raghavan @DoneChannel1 @saregamasouth (sic).”
Ranga is an action thriller, written and directed by debutant Vinod DL and the film has Nikhila Vimal of Kidaari fame playing the leading lady. The film’s plot is said to have an underlying message for the audience, too. The portions were shot in Chennai and Kashmir. The film’s director had earlier stated that the title Ranga was named after ‘Kaakum Kadavul Ranganathan’ as the protagonist protects people in the society, just like god protects the world. Sibiraj’s character is said to have multiple shades in the film. The crew shot in Kashmir in extremely hectic climatic conditions and the film’s makers were all praise for the crew, who had co-operated with each other despite the trying and testing conditions in the landscape.
The star cast for the film also comprises Sathish and Mohnish Rahega. Music is by Ramjeevan, cinematography by Arvi and editing is by Ruben. Arun Shankar is the art director. Lyrics for the songs are by Thamarai, Vivek, Munna Shaokath Ali and the first single from the film, Theeramal, a romantic number penned by Karthik Netha was sung by Anirudh Ravichander. Ranga has been given the U/A certificate by the Censor Board. In the meantime, Sibiraj also has in his kitty, Maayon, Ranger and Vattam.
