Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi has been the talk of the town since the release of Gehraiyaan. He has won over the hearts of many fans with his brilliant performance as Zain in the Deepika Padukone starrer film. But the actor's journey hasn't always been all rosy.
The actor has had a share of struggles. There was a time when he would give rounds of auditions in Mumbai and once, he even landed up and spend all day long at a fake audition process. The Gully Boy actor recently opened up about his early audition days in an interaction with his co-stars Padukone, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa, for Cyrus Broacha's YouTube channel Cyrus Says.
During the interview, Siddhant revealed that he once spend a whole day at a fake audition for a film that was supposedly a sequel to Josh, the superhit film of Shah Rukh Khan. Siddhant recounted, "I have auditioned for Josh 2, for Eagle Gang." He further said it happened about four years ago. "There were so many guys standing in a queue and I asked them what was happening. They said it was an audition for Josh 2 and they are looking for Bichhoo Gang's new leader or something. I stood in that line for the whole day. My turn didn't come," he said. Other actors and the director Batra also found it amusing.
It was only when he returned to the spot the next day that he learned that it was all fake. "Next day, I was the first one to go there," he said, adding, "There was nobody and it was shut. I asked when it was opening and they said it was all fake. Josh 2 ban hi nahi rahi."
Josh, starring Shah Rukh, Aishwarya Rai, Chandrachur Singh, and Sharad Kapoor, was a box office success. Inspired by the Hollywood musical, West Side Story, it was among the highest-grossing films of 2000. But the makers never announced a sequel officially.
Meanwhile, Siddhant will be next seen in Phone Bhoot with Katrina Kaif and Ishaan Khatter and in Yudhra, opposite Malavika Mohanan.
