Elle Fanning joins ‘Predator’ franchise in ‘Badlands’

Elle Fanning is set to star in Badlands, the latest instalment of the Predator franchise, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who helmed the successful Prey. While plot details and Fanning's role remain under wraps, the film is generating significant buzz. Prey followed a young Comanche warrior battling a Predator and received critical acclaim and multiple Emmy nominations. Trachtenberg co-writes Badlands with Patrick Aison, known for Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. Fanning recently starred in The Great and The Girl From Plainville. Sherlock Holmes 3: Still in the game

The long-awaited Sherlock Holmes 3, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, remains in development. Despite delays, producer Susan Downey assures fans the project isn't dead, emphasising the need for a compelling story to reunite the iconic duo. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the first two films were major hits, and while Dexter Fletcher was set to direct the third, progress has been slow. Ritchie has left the project in Downey Jr.'s hands, suggesting potential future involvement. Meanwhile, a Young Sherlock Holmes series is also in development, in an attempt to keep the franchise alive.

Josh Brolin joins star-studded cast of 'Knives Out 3'

Josh Brolin has joined the cast of Rian Johnson's Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the third film in the acclaimed franchise set to premiere on Netflix in 2025. He will star alongside Daniel Craig, Glenn Close, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Kerry Washington, Jeremy Renner, and Mila Kunis. Brolin, known for his roles in Outer Range and Dune, continues to diversify his filmography with this high-profile project. Sarah Snook stars in new Peacock thriller 'All Her Fault'

Sarah Snook, known for her Emmy-winning role in Succession, takes on her first TV role since the show's end in the thriller series All Her Fault. Based on Andrea Mara's best selling novel of the same name, the series follows Snook's character, Marissa Irvine, as she searches for her son who mysteriously disappears during a playdate. The series is created by Megan Gallagher and directed by Minkie Spiro, with Snook also serving as an executive producer. The show delves into the secrets of Marissa's community as she unravels the mystery behind her son's mysterious disappearance.

'The Office' spin-off 'The Paper' unveiled with new title

Greg Daniels' upcoming spin-off of The Office has been titled The Paper. The mockumentary will follow a documentary crew as they cover a historic Midwestern newspaper struggling for survival with volunteer reporters. Unlike the original series, The Paper will not feature any characters from The Office. The show stars Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore, promising plenty of humour and awkward moments. The series has received a full season order on Peacock, with production beginning in July. Fans can expect the same comedic tone as The Office, though a release date has not been announced yet.

Tamannaah Bhatia and Raashii Khanna’s horror-comedy 'Aranmanai 4' set for OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar

The eagerly-awaited horror-comedy Aranmanai 4, starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Raashii Khanna, is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar this June. The film, directed by Sundar C, will be available in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Aranmanai 4, which recently surpassed Rs 100 crores worldwide, marks a significant achievement in the Tamil film industry for 2024. The film features an ensemble cast, including Sundar C, Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, Vennela Kishore, Srinivasa Reddy, Sunil, and KS Ravikumar. Produced by Khushbu Sundar and ACS Arun Kumar, the movie has been well-received for its blend of horror and comedy, along with strong performances by its cast.
