There's an additional sense of pride and joy when a Telugu film lover looks at the growth of the Vizag-born Sobhita Dhulipala. The actress who entered the industry with Anurag Kashyap's Raman Raghav 2.0, made her Telugu debut with Adivi Sesh-starrer spy thriller Goodachari. Her popularity sky-rocketed with the web show Made in Heaven, Malayalam film Moothon and Netflix's Ghost Stories and she never had to look back later. The actress' next release is the Malayalam crime saga Kurup, where she is paired opposite Dulquer Salmaan. The film directed by Srinath Rajendran is also having a Telugu release on November 12.
At Kurup's pre-release event held in Hyderabad, she said, "It's been two years since the film was ready and there was a quiet anxiety if it would land directly on an OTT platform. Kurup was a film made with a lot of love and passion. All films involve a great amount of hardwork, but there was such beautiful creative energy on the sets of Kurup during pre-production, shoot. To see the film release on such a grand scale in so many languages feels special. I have a lot of faith in the film and love for it. I am really happy and looking forward to the release."
Sobhita plays the role of Sharada Kurup in the film. As part of Kurup's promotions in Hyderabad, Dulquer Salmaan and Sobhita Dhulipala also engaged with influencers in a QnA session yesterday. Sobhita Dhulipala's next Telugu release after Kurup is Major, the Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan biopic, where she reunites with her Goodachari star Adivi Sesh. The film is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and is slated to release in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam on February 11, 2022. Telugu star Mahesh Babu is one of the film's producers on behalf of GMB Entertainment.
