Marvel Studios tie-in with Sony, gave the audience an opportunity to see their favourite Spiderman as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Spiderman: No Way Home is the third instalment in the Spiderman franchise, and would pick up from where its prequel, Far From Home, left, after Mysterio exposed Peter Parker’s identity. It is the MCU’s last planned 2021 movie release, and thus the hype for witnessing the shenanigans of Spidey is quite high.
Now, in an exciting piece of news for Marvel fans, a set photo has been released that unveils the first glimpse of Doctor Strange and Peter in a scene together. Shared by Not3CFilm (via Spider-Man: No Way Home News), we can see Doctor Strange standing on the front steps of what seems like the Sanctum Santorum and greeting Peter, who is dressed in his full Spidey suit.
Peter Parker and Stephen Strange had their introduction in Avengers: Infinity War, with their interactions providing some funny moments as the bright-eyed Peter struggled to impress the more serious Sorcerer Supreme. His role is expected to help pave the way for next year’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and is also rumoured to fill the void left by Iron Man, becoming Peter's new mentor.
With No Way Home being the third and probably the final solo outing of the neighbourhood hero, it is set to dive into the Marvel multiverse, tying in from the events of WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness, and include several performers from past Spider-Man franchises. From lead actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, to Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx reprising their villainous roles as Doctor Octopus and Electro – the star-studded ensemble promises a tingling ride.
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled to hit the theatres on December 17.
