Shivarajkumar is a lot of things for his fans – he’s Karunada Chakravarthy, Hattrick Hero, Century Star and, of course, Shivanna. But he’s also Kannada cinema’s SRK, a moniker that comes up pretty much every time there is a discussion about the OG SRK – Shah Rukh Khan. On Thursday, it was no different when streaming platform Amazon Prime Video’s official social media account posted a query to followers asking them about their favourite SRK movie. The post came on a day when Shah Rukh Khan would be trending on social media, what with his latest Jawan in theatres, but Kannada fans used the opportunity to upstage him, with their responses.

The post got a few comments about Shah Rukh’s best works, but for the most part, it was Shivanna fans taking over the Prime Video timeline. Some fans found the post funny and said that the platform’s social media manager had put the post intentionally to get this kind of response, declaring that SRK is the one and only Shivarajkumar. Considering that Shivanna is about 126 films and counting in his 37 year career, there was no dearth of choices for his fans as they made merry with Prime Video’s post. Chigurida Kanasu, Bhajarangi, Inspector Vikram, Mufti, Janumada Jodi, Jogi, AK 47, Om, Tagaru, Kaddipudi, Ratha Saptami, Ranaranga, Vedha, Samyukta, Namoora Mandara Hoove, Anand, Simhada Mari, Galate Aliyandru, Preethse, Vajrajakaya and many more were listed, with some fans saying that the streamer ought to wait a bit, as Shivarajkumar’s next, Ghost, is rumoured to have been picked up by the platform.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Prime Video’s social media management team has played this trick on netizens. In June last year, the same question was posed and it had generated very similar responses because for Kannada audiences SRK only means Shivarajkumar.
