SS Rajamouli, who’s currently working on the script and the pre-production formalities for SSMB29, his action adventure with Mahesh Babu, surprised audiences with his presence at the pre-release event of Animal held in Hyderabad. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in key roles. The director had high words of praise for team Animal.
“I am always eager to give a taste of Telugu audiences’ love for cinema, whenever someone from Mumbai flies down here. Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor are here today and I’m proud to show them the madness, passion you have for cinema,” the director said.
While new directors come to the industry every year, make big films or superhits and get popular, once in a generation, there will be a filmmaker who’ll not only shake the audiences or the industry but also breaks filmmaking stereotypes, Rajamouli shared. “For the previous generation, it was Ram Gopal Varma. After that, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is the one who broke norms and made films in his own style.”
The director said he’s proud of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. “I was sold the day I watched the teaser of Animal. I haven’t been so excited to watch a film in theatres on the first day in recent times. Due to my professional commitments on December 1 and 2, I am getting to watch the film on November 30 itself. You need to wait a little longer to watch the film, but don’t miss it.”
He called Ranbir an intense performer and his most favourite actor in Hindi cinema with a rare combination of intensity and vulnerability. “He hasn’t gotten many films to prove his worth in his 15-year-long career. Animal will stand tall in his filmography and I hope he’s on top in the industry. The film has a fantastic team, I can see the hard work and watch it only in theatres on December 1.”
