Ranbir Kapoor defends the long runtime of Animal
During a press meet held last evening in Bengaluru, Ranbir Kapoor explained why filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga and the Animal team opted for such a long runtime of the film. Ranbir, on behalf of the team, said, “We are releasing a film this long not because we feel arrogant about it. We felt that the story required that time to reach the audience in the best way possible. We have seen a cut of this film which was 3 hours and 49 minutes. And that cut was also entertaining.”
“Sandeep has worked very hard to bring the length down. We are hoping that the audience doesn’t get panicked by the length and experience cinema at its best,” Ranbir said.
Rashmika Mandanna, who plays a key role in the film, added, “I feel that this film narrates a story of multiple complex characters. If you take one character out of it and weave a story around it, it can be a movie itself. So, if you enter the world of Animal and understand the pysche of people in it, you will understand that the film needs this much time. Also, the film is so strong and holds so well that I don’t think that the length is something to worry about.”
Ranbir Kapoor later assured that the audience will not be bored of this film. Animal will hit the theatres on December 1.
