Director SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR is all set to release in Japan in October. The film, starring Ram Charan and Junior NTR, hit screens on March 25. And now, we hear that the film will release in Japan this October. The makers made the announcement on their social media page, "Delighted to announce that #RRRMovie is releasing in Japan on 21st Oct, 2022. #RRRinJapan (sic)." The star-studded cast also includes Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody. The fictional period drama brings together Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, two real-life revolutionaries who waged war against the British.

The magnum opus was shot extensively around India and certain portions were canned in Ukraine, too, thus going on to become one of the last Indian movies to be shot in the war-hit country. Music for the film has been composer by Keeravani. While the cinematography is handled by KK Senthilkumar, editing is by A Sreekar Prasad. Sabu Cyril is the film's production designer and V Srinivas Mohan has handled the visual effects. The pandemic had delayed the shoot and the release of the film. RRR is said to be one of the most expensive films made in India on a budget of Rs 550 crore.

RRR opened to largely positive reviews following its much-anticipated release, and went on to collect over Rs 1000 crore, at the box office, thus, going on to become one of the highest grossing Indian movies to be made. The film overtook the collection of Rajamouli's earlier outing Bahubali 2: The Conclusion. The film is being streamed on Netflix and ZEE5. Netflix had shared that the Hindi dubbed version of the film was streamed for "over 45 million hours" across the world and had become one of the most popular Indian films on the streaming platform. RRR is also the first Indian film to be released in Dolby Cinema, establishing yet another milestone.
