A Disney+ documentary about Stan Lee will be released in 2023, according to a 25-second trailer posted by Marvel Entertainment on Wednesday. The announcement coincides with the late comic book creator's 100th birthday, which would have been today.

"100 years of dreaming. 100 years of creating. 100 years of Stan Lee. Stan Lee, an Original documentary, is streaming 2023 on @DisneyPlus," the teaser was captioned by Marvel Entertainment.

A few of Stan Lee's lesser parts and cameos in movies can be seen in the recently released video. The happy sequence ends with a slow zoom out that shows a picture of the multi-talented inventor.

The most well-known characters Lee is credited with creating are Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, the X-Men, and others. He collaborated with other writer-artists, including Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, on these works. Lee stayed connected to Marvel even after he left the company in the 1990s. He made cameos in Marvel movies and was an executive producer on Marvel movies.

In honour of Lee's 100th birthday, Genius Brands International opened a new online store this month with three limited-edition collections with his name on them. The entertainment firm has agreed to co-executive produce the "Stan Lee" documentary and is the owner of the name, voice, likeness, signature, and licencing rights to all intellectual property pertaining to Lee.

"100 years ago, Stan was born in NYC. Over the last century, his work changed the pop culture landscape & influenced millions. At LA Comic Con, fans left messages for Stan's centennial. Inspiration. Legend. Hero. These are some of the words that came up again & again. #StanLee100," reads a tweet from POW! Entertainment's ongoing use of the official Stan Lee Twitter account.

One day after being transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for a medical emergency, Lee passed away on November 12, 2018, one month before his 96th birthday.
