Star movie OTT partner revealed - Digital rights of Kavin-starrer have been bagged by THIS streaming platform

Star movie OTT partner revealed - Actor Kavin's upcoming film Star is one of the most exciting projects that fans have been looking forward to this year. Although the theatrical release date of the film has not been announced yet, the film’s OTT rights have been bagged by Amazon Prime Video, according to sources. Reports also reveal that the satellite rights have been purchased by Vijay Television. Although these reports have been circulating on various platforms, an official confirmation from the film’s team is awaited. Directed by Elan of Pyaar Prema Kadhal fame, the film also stars Malayalam actor Lal in a pivotal role.

Dada-fame Kavin’s upcoming family drama Star is currently in the last stages of production. The upcoming film features Kavin in the role of a movie star, and will take us through the struggles and the untold side of stardom. The film, which was initially headlined by Harish Kalyan, will see Kavin in a new avatar. The film is set to have the elements of youthful romance, family drama and more in its central plot. The makers had earlier unveiled a photo album promo , which took the audience through a series of shots showcasing the journey of the protagonist’s life from childhood to adulthood. The promo hints at a heartwarming story, which will be narrated in the very own ‘Kavin-style’. The actor, who mesmerised the audience with the emotional drama Dada, has piqued the audiences' interest towards this upcoming drama.

Star to release on THIS date?

Although not officially announced, the Kavin-starrer drama is speculated to have an April release. Few sources claim that the makers have zeroed in on April 12 as the release date. However, an official announcement about the final date is awaited.  

Apart from Kavin, the film also stars Malayalam actor Lal, who is rumoured to essay the role of Kavin's father. The film will also star Aaditi S Pohankar and Preity Mukhundhan as his female co-stars.
