Director Ameer-starrer Uyir Thamizhukku is set to hit big screens on May 10 (Friday). While we have already seen his acting prowess in films like Vada Chennai and Yogi, Ameer has also delivered some iconic films as a director. Ameer might have helmed only four films so far, but each of them have achieved a cult status in Tamil cinema. We list out Ameer’s directorial films that you can stream now.

Mounam Pesiyadhe - Aha Tamil

Mounam Pesiyadhe released in 2002 and is a romantic drama starring actors Suriya and Trisha in the lead roles. The film also starred Nandha, Neha Pendse, and Laila in a cameo role. While Mounam Pesiyadhe marked Ameer's directorial debut, it was also Trisha's first film as a lead actor. Mounam Pesiyadhe revolves around a restaurant owner, Gautham who falls in love with his friend, Kannan's cousin. However, there is a twist when Kannan's parents want him to get married to the girl. The film was a commercial success and was remade in Telugu as Aadanthe Ado Type.

Raam – SunNXT

Cast: Jiiva, Saranya Ponvannan

Raam a thriller drama directed by Ameer in 2005. The film is set against the backdrop of Kodaikanal, and is about a grown-up man who is autistic and has a dangerously obsessive love for his mother. But when police find him near a pool of blood and his dead mother, he eventually becomes the prime suspect of murder. The film stars Jiiva, Saranya Ponvannan, Gajala and others. Raam was critically well received with many praising the cast's performances. Yuvan Shankar Raja's score and songs are added advantage for the film. Raam was backed by Ameer.

Aadhi Bhagavan - ZEE5

Cast: Jayam Ravi, Neetu Chandra

Aadhi Bhagavan is a 2013 action film starring Jayam Ravi in dual roles, playing both the protagonist and antagonist, along with Neetu Chandra, Saiju Kurup and Sudha Chandran. The film follows the life of Aadhi who is a gangster himself living away from his family due to his lifestyle. But there comes a shift in his life after he saves a woman which connects him to another gangster in Mumbai, Bhagavan, who looks like him. The film is written by Ameer as well.

Paruthiveeran - Prime Video

Director: Ameer

Cast: Karthi, Priyamani

Paruthiveeran marks Karthi's acting debut and is a romantic action drama also featuring Priyamani, Saravanan, Ganja Karuppu, Sampath Raj, and Sujatha Sivakumar among others. The film is set in Madurai and revolves around a country brash who is ostracised for his parents' inter-caste marriage. Soon, as he falls in love with a girl in his village and faces opposition, they elope only to meet a tragic fate. Paruthiveeran became a commercial success and critically acclaimed film. Priyamani won the National Film Award for Best Actress in 2006.
