Getting a break in Bollywood as a lyricist means that you have something in you that others would love to listen. And getting a chance to work as a lyricist with the likes of the legendary filmmaker Sudhir Mishra only proves the fact that your pen definitely has that special something which is bound to create magic! Same is the case with the lyricist Dr. Sagar, who has been climbing the ladder of success with his soulful lyrics. After having made his debut in Bollywood earlier, Dr Sagar is yet again in the news. This time round, for his track ‘Aaj Yeh Basant’ from the hard-hitting film ‘Afwaah’. Ever since the time the song got released, it really has garnered attention from almost everyone, courtesy, it's extremely soulful lyrics. The lyrics of the track are extremely simple yet powerful, and they capture the essence of the movie perfectly. The said track has been composed by Shameer Tandon and sung by Sunetra Banerjee and Mame Khan.

Speaking about the said track, lyricist Dr. Sagar said, "Afwaah’ is a social commentary on a variety of topics, including the country's present political situation, the love jihaad debate, and the role of social media and rumors in corrupting the youth. So, while writing the lyrics, I wanted to make sure that the religious aspect did not add to the heat, but rather provoke thoughts about the reality of the situation."

In the same breath, Dr. Sagar continued, “The way I got to learn from all the teachers of Ballia-BHU and JNU, in the same way, I got to learn from the most celebrated film director in the film industry Sudhir Mishra. Bob Dylan's song ‘It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)’ suited Sudhir Sir for the song situation of the film 'Afwaah'. After listening to this song, I wanted to write a song to Shamir Tandon's tune with a Rajasthani flavor. 'Aaj Yeh Basant' is the result of all this hard work. I have lived up to the expectations of the director. Let's see what my fans have to say about it".
