Pruthvi Ambaar is currently counting down to two releases. The actor will be seen in a pivotal role in this week’s Shiva Rajkumar starrer Bairagee, directed by Vijay Milton, which is supposed to be the remake of the Tamil hit Asuran. A week later, the actor gets his first solo hero project since the 2020 hit Dia. Called Sugarless, the film is the directorial debut of producer Shashidhar, who has made films like D/O Parvathamma and Veeram.
Sugarless, which will be in theatres on July 8, along with films like Hope, Tootu Madike, Wedding Gift and Namma Hudugaru, will see Pruthvi play a 28-year-old man who is diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. How he comes to terms with his conditions and the problems he faces along the way, both mental and physical, are at the crux of the narrative. Pruthvi is paired with Priyanka Thimmesh in the film, who was last seen in Made in China, opposite Nagabhushana.
The film, which also stars Dharmanna Kadur and Dattanna, among others, in pivotal roles, has apparently locked its satellite and digital partners. According to reports, Shashidhar has sold his film to Colors Kannada for its TV rights, whereby Voot Select becomes its streaming partner. A date is yet to be announced, but most films these days are either sold for on or before 30 or 50 days from date of theatrical release. We will keep you posted as soon as we hear more on this front.
Meanwhile, Pruthvi, who recently forayed into Bollywood with the Hindi remake of Dia, called Dear Dia, will soon be seen in Kannada films like For Regn, and Life Is Beautiful. The actor will also be seen in a new film along with Premier Padmini and Rathnan Prapancha star Pramod and Love Mocktail 2’s Rachel David, called Bhuvanam Gaganam.
