Shilpa Shetty's last two theatrical releases, Nikamma and Hungama 2, failed to strike the right chord with the audience. However, her 2023 film, Sukhee, managed to garner a positive response. Although the film didn't do well at the box office, the Sonal Joshi directorial received good feedback.
Also featuring Kusha Kapila, the movie is now set for an OTT release after its theatrical run. Sonal's directorial venture is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on November 17, 2023. Here are a few things you can expect from the film:
A refreshing storyline and a slice-of-life entertainer
For the unversed, Shilpa Shetty and Kusha Kapila's Sukhee is a slice-of-life entertainer. The movie is a refreshing tale of a woman who reignited her inner spark after years of merely being a housewife. From being a wife and mother to being her own self, the shift in Shilpa's character's (Sukhpreet Kalra) arc is something that women will resonate with.
At a time when the OTT space is filled with thrillers, Sukhee will come as a breath of fresh air. Although the movie is lighthearted in nature, it sends out a strong message.
Shilpa Shetty's performance
Shilpa, who has been in the industry for over three decades, will leave you impressed with her performance. It is commendable how the actress has done full justice to her character, Sukhpreet Kalra, in the movie.
Promising directorial debut
Sonal Joshi made her directorial debut with Sukhee. She doesn't seem like a newcomer considering the way she has helmed the movie, starring Kusha and Shilpa.

Sukhee was penned by Radhika Anand, Paulomi Dutta, and Rupinder Inderjit. On the other hand, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar co-produced the movie with Vikram Malhotra and Shikhaa Sharma.
Apart from Shilpa and Kusha, this film starred Amit Sadh, Dilnaz Irani, Pavleen Gujral, Kiran Kumar, Chaitanya Choudhry, Jyoti Kapoor, and Vinod Nagpal. Sukhee hit the big screen on September 22, 2023. It will be released on Netflix nearly two months after its theatrical release.
