One of the most anticipated movies across the world at this point is James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy. There are too many reasons to be excited about this one because this will be the beginning of the live-action era for the DCU, the first movie as the boss for James and Peter Safran, the first time David Corenswet will be seen as Clark Kent as he replaces Henry Cavill. So, you know why the anticipation. The latest updates about the movie, most of which come from James himself , indicate he is ready with a storyboard and is going on floors with the movie any day now. But if the latest reports are to go by, there has been a drastic change in the script of the movie.
A new report from a scooper and critic Grace Randolph has created a stir on the interest. Her latest post on X (Formerly called Twitter) has left fans worried about Superman: Legacy, and if the rumor is true, all of us might get tense. As per the scooper, a drastic change has happened in one of the scripts at the DCU. Her post on the microblogging platform reads, “I hear a certain #DC movie has switched its conflict from the Middle East to Eastern Europe…” While there is no name involved in her post, the netizens have drawn a parallel.
The comments section to the post is flooded with fans who are worried about the change. They think that it is indeed Superman: Legacy where the change has happened. If you are unaware, the Middle East has been one of the hotbeds for superhero movies, and the unsettling nature of the real world makes it very possible that the makers have decided to shift the base of the conflict to a new space.
However, it was months ago when rumors had suggested that Superman: Legacy will be about a conflict in the Middle East. The movie will be set in a fictional country called Bialya. The rumor had left fans unhappy as this wasn’t what they were expecting. So when a fan on threads decided to ask James Gunn and wrote, “Please tell us the terrorist threat in the Middle East isn’t true.” Replying to it, James shunned the rumor and simply wrote, “It isn’t true.”
So now as the latest rumor says that a project has shifted the conflict base from the Middle East to Eastern Europe, the first guess everyone made was Superman: Legacy. However, there are no details about the movie script out yet. It stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, and an ensemble. The movie is set to hit the shores on July 11, 2025.
