Suriya-Venky Atluri's film locks an interesting title; Here's what we know

We at OTTplay were the first to reveal that Tamil star Suriya is all set to make his Telugu debut with a social drama directed by Venky Atluri, known for Sir and Lucky Baskhar. The film was launched on an auspicious note, and Premalu fame Mamitha Baiju will be seen as the female lead.

Title locked for Suriya's next

Now, we have once again come across some interesting information regarding the film’s title. We’ve learned that the makers have tentatively titled the film Vishwanathan and Sons. The title is more or less confirmed and will be officially announced soon. A source close to the unit also revealed that another title was under consideration, but Suriya and the director prefer to go with Vishwanathan and Sons. A final decision will be taken shortly.

Suriya is currently going through a lull in his career, as his last two films, Kanguva and Retro, failed at the box office. To bounce back, he has chosen Venky Atluri to direct his first straight Telugu film. We had also reported that Suriya has been paid a career-high remuneration for this project, which is being produced by Naga Vamsi under the Sithara Entertainments banner.

With back-to-back hits to their credit, the makers are confident that they can make Suriya’s Telugu debut a smash hit. This is the first time Suriya will be seen opposite Mamitha Baiju, and their pairing has created even more buzz around the project.

The film’s shoot is progressing at a brisk pace in Hyderabad, and according to sources, Suriya will be seen in a powerful role. Several prominent names from Telugu cinema are playing key roles in the film.
