Along with Oppenheimer and Barbie, one more international film is here to enchant the audience this week. Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza’s Bangladeshi film Surongo is all set to hit the big screens across West Bengal, India. Directed by Raihan Rafi, the film will hit Indian theatres on July 21. On July 19, the actor, actress, and director met the media in Kolkata during their promotional trip. 

Surongo is brought to the Indian viewers by the renowned production houses – Chorki and Alpha-i, in collaboration with SVF Entertainment. The film will be released in 29 theatres across Bengal, India.  

Nisho became a household name in Kolkata after his Hoichoi thriller, Kaiser. His presence added excitement at the press meet. Director Raihan Rafi expressed his enthusiasm for the film’s release in Kolkata. “Surongo holds a special place in my heart, and it's a privilege to share this cinematic journey with the audiences over here in India. The film is an amalgamation of emotions and human connections, and I hope it resonates with the viewers,” he said.

Afran Nisho, who plays the protagonist in the film, shared his excitement. “As an actor, there is nothing more gratifying than seeing your efforts being cherished by a diverse range of viewers,” he said, adding, “Kolkata's profound cultural legacy and passion for cinema make it the perfect location for Surongo to be unveiled. I am overjoyed to have my debut film launching in India, and I eagerly look forward to witnessing how the audience embraces our movie.”

Meanwhile, Tama Mirza, the talented actress known for her captivating performances, expressed her gratitude. She told the media, “Surongo’s journey has been incredible, and the response in Bangladesh was overwhelming. Now, we eagerly look forward to presenting this beautiful story to the Indian audience. I am hopeful that they will enjoy the film as much as we enjoyed making it.”
