Vishal's first release of the year, Mark Antony, has been slated for a theatrical release on September 15. The film helmed by Adhik Ravichandran garnered good hype after its teaser release a while ago. Billed as a gangster drama with time travel elements, SJ Suryah, Ritu Varma, Selvaraghavan and Sunil play key roles in it.
The team managed to gain the attention of Vijay fans after Vishal visited the former and showed him the movie's teaser ahead of its official release. The project also acquired the much-needed hype after the latter came up with the hashtag #ThalapathyVijayForMarkAntony.
GV Prakash, the music director of the film, has now surprised one and all by roping in T Rajender to sing the first single. Titled Adhirudha, the peppy song will be out in a couple of days. The team has unveiled a BTS video which has the veteran actor-filmmaker seen interacting with Mark Antony team.
He is spotted lending voice for the fast-paced song and expressed happiness for the same, and congratulated GV, Adhik and Vishal for what they have made. It's been a while since Rajender has crooned a song; the last time he turned a singer was for Kavan (2017) which had him essaying a notable character in it.
Mark Antony is expected to have a box office clash with Chandramukhi 2. Both projects are likely to be released in Telugu, too. The Kollywood movies will have to battle it out with Ram Pothineni's Skanda at Tollywood box office in September.
While Mark Antony marks Vishal's maiden release in 2023, Chandramukhi 2 marks Raghava Lawrence's second outing this year after Rudhran.
