Filmmaker Tahira Kashyap Khurrana is all set to work on her new project -- a feature film that she will be collaborating with Oscar-winning film producer Guneet Monga.

The announcement was made on Tahira's 40th birthday. Elaborating on the project and collaboration, Tahira said, "Guneet is an incredible collaborator - a maverick in making special stories seen and heard. I am elated that the vision we had is now becoming a reality and we are coming together with a film that we both truly believe in."

She also added that as a producer, Guneet shows respect and trust in the vision of a film director and allows her to fly. She has had one of the most beautiful experiences working with the producer in the past, in the short film Pinni, which was a part of the anthology named Zindagi Inshorts.

"I think that the both of us sort of made a pact in an unsaid way of collaborating in the future. Our energies were synced," said Tahira, who has already finished her first feature film Sharmaji Ki Beti, which is slated to release this year.

Talking about her experience of working with Tahira, Guneet, the co-founder of the production house Sikhya Entertainment, said, "Tahira is a really good writer with a deep understanding of human relationships. She is able to convey these intimate connections through her nuanced writing."

Recalling their earlier collaboration, she added, "As a production house, we were drawn to Pinni because of the subtext alongside a truly empowering story. Her view of this world and her understanding cuts across classes. Tahira’s approach and sensitivity is what I truly find fascinating."

Tahira has earlier directed short films like Toffee and Quaranteen Crush as part of the anthology Feels Like Ishq that is streaming on Netflix.
