Taika Waititi, director of Thor: Love and Thunder, was captured cuddling with his girlfriend Rita Ora and Tessa Thompson in Sydney. The photographs soon went viral and reports have stated that Waititi was reprimanded by his bosses.

Academy Award winning filmmaker Taika Waititi, who is directing the Thor sequel, has been reprimanded by his bosses at Marvel over photos of him cosying up with his girlfriend Rita Ora and actress Tessa Thompson. The movie is currently being shot in Australia, which is where Waititi was captured with the two celebrities. Thompson plays Valkyrie in the Marvel film franchise.
The trio made headlines last week when images of them cuddling on a balcony in the filmmaker’s Bondi home went viral. An insider who is involved in the upcoming Marvel project stated that Waititi’s behaviour is “not exactly the image they’re looking to project in relation to one of their biggest franchises."
The Daily Telegraph also reported that the filmmaker’s photograph also upset some executives at Marvel’s parent company Disney. The publication also claimed that though Waititi is known for being a ‘party animal’, his recent conduct has ‘crossed a line’ for them.
In the photos published by MailOnline, Ora is leaning into her director beau for a kiss with Thompson wrapped around the two following an all-night party at Waititi’s Sydney home. The images quickly started doing the rounds on social media websites.
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently being directed by Waititi, who won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for Jojo Rabbit in 2020. Chris Hemsworth is all set to reprise his role as the Norse God, while Natalie Portman will return as astrophysicist Dr Jane Foster who will emerge as the female version of Thor.
