Representatives for American singing sensation Taylor Swift have addressed allegations of her father, Scott Swift, assaulting a 51-year-old man. Following reports that Scott was involved in an altercation with the photographer attempting to approach Swift, a spokesperson for the pop singer informed Rolling Stone news outlet that during the purported incident, two individuals were advancing towards Swift and had threatened a member of her staff.

According to the statement given by the spokesperson of Taylor’s team to the news outlet, “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water."
The New South Wales Police Force has not yet confirmed Scott's involvement in the incident. However, a representative for the unit informed Variety that a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf in Sydney around 2:30 a.m. Scott, being 71 years old, fits the description, and the Daily Mail was the first to identify the 51-year-old as photographer Ben McDonald. No medical assistance was necessary, but police stated that the younger man reported the incident.
