Tenant - Decoding the plot of Satyam Rajesh, Megha Chowdhary’s thriller

Satyam Rajesh, who scored one of the biggest hits in his career as a lead actor with Maa Oori Polimera 2, is back with another suspenseful drama. He plays a pivotal role in a film titled Tenant, where he’s paired opposite Phalana Abbai Phalana Ammai actress Megha Chowdhary. The film also stars Chandana Payyavula, Bharat Kant, Tej Dileep, Aadukalam Naren and Ester Noronha.

The trailer of Tenant was unveiled yesterday that gives a fair idea of what the film is all about. The glimpse begins with an investigative officer’s version of a crime - where the protagonist Goutham gives a complaint that his wife is missing in Hyderabad. He’s reportedly burnt his wife’s body in the vicinity of Wanaparthi. Later, we get to hear the story through Satyam Rajesh’s lens.

Goutham is a corporate professional with six years of work experience and he shares a strained relationship with his wife. A youngster who lives in the same apartment is joined by his girlfriend. Later, Goutham realises all is not well with his better half and suspects an affair between her and a neighbour. What connects his wife’s murder to the death of another youngster in the apartment?

Did Goutham kill his wife out of suspicion? Is the neighbour hiding a dark secret from him? Is Goutham truly innocent? The investigating cop is confused herself. Cashing in on Telugu viewers’ fascination for thrillers, the premise is apt for big screen viewing. The film is full of characters with grey shades. Provided Tenant is backed by a good screenplay, Satyam Rajesh may have a winner again.

The terrific music score (by Sahityya Sagar) further piques the curiosity of the viewer. Y Yugandhar has written the screenplay, dialogues besides directing the film. Mogulla Chandrashekhar Reddy is bankrolling the film under Mahateja Creations. Jemin Jom Ayyaneth is the cinematographer and Vijay Mukthavarapu is the editor. YS Srinivasa Varma has provided the story.
