Thalaivar 170: Lyca Productions puts out a casting call for Rajinikanth's film with TJ Gnanavel

Rajinikanth, who is basking over the success of Jailer, is set to join Thalaivar 170 (tentative title) which will be helmed by TJ Gnanavel soon. The untitled project was officially launched a few weeks ago in Chennai. Lyca Productions is bankrolling the movie which is said to have Fahadh Faasil and Manju Warrier among others essaying key roles.

It marks the third outing of Rajini and the production house together after 2.0 and Darbar. Anirudh has been roped in to compose music for the movie. The film is the musician's fourth outing with the Superstar after Petta, Darbar and Jailer.

Lyca Productions puts out a casting call for Thalaivar 170

The production house has now surprised fans by putting out a casting call for the film. They are in search of Malayalam actors of different age groups who are based out of Trivandrum. It looks like the movie has a connection with Kerala.

According to sources, the project is based on a real story that happened in the life of a cop who took up a serious cause. The film is riding on high expectations, thanks to the popularity Gnanavel gained after his last outing Jai Bhim.

Lal Salaam is Rajini's next release

The Superstar will next be seen in Lal Salaam which marks the return of his daughter Aishwarya to direction. Interestingly, it is also being produced by Lyca Productions. The social drama has Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth playing lead roles.

It marks the come together of Rajini and AR Rahman after 2.0. The movie's story revolves around cricket and friendship. Rajinikanth will be seen in an extended cameo.
