Not many know that ace comedian and actor Yogi Babu is an ardent fan of cricket and also loves playing the game. So, when Thalapathy Vijay heard about the same, he decided to surprise his Varisu co-star and presented him with a cricket bat. Now, Yogi Babu has shared the same on his social media handle and thanked the actor for his surprise. He wrote, "Intha bat aa enaku surprise a kodutha Vijay anna ku thankyou @actorvijay #thalapathyvijayyogibabu (sic)."
The shoot for Vijay's Varisu has been wrapped up and the team is currently completing the songs in the film. The post production is about to kick off. This is the maiden collaboration between Vijay and Thozha director Vamshi Paidipally and the film's leading lady Rashmika Mandanna. The film has an ensemble star cast which includes Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Ganesh Venkatram, Sneha, Meena, Khushbu Sundar, Sangeetha Krish, to name a few.
Music for the film is by Thaman and interestingly, this is the first time that Thaman is scoring music for a Vijay film. Two songs from the film, Ranjithame (sung by Vijay himself along with Manasi) and Thee Thalapathy (sung by Silambarasan TR) have already gone viral on social media. The film is said to be a family drama cum action entertainer. The cinematography is by Karthik Phalani and Praveen KL.
The film is slated to release for Pongal 2023 and will clash with Ajith's Thunivu. Vijay and Ajith will be clashing with each other after a span of 8 years. The last time their films were released was 2014, when Vijay's Jilla and Ajith's Veeram took on each other at the box office.
In meantime, Vijay has begun work on Thalapathy67 which will mark his comeback with Master director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film's muhurat puja was held recently in Chennai.
