The shoot for Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj's next has begun and is going in full swing. If the buzz in the industry is to go by, the next schedule of Thalapathy67 is all set to begin in Kodaikanal, and Mysskin & Sandy are likely to be part of the schedule. The team is planning a long schedule in Kashmir thereafter and Sanjay Dutt, who is said to be the prime antagonist of the film, will be joining the set there. After that, the team might head to Telangana for the next schedule.

During a recent visit to Coimbatore, Lokesh Kanagaraj had revealed to the media that the next update is likely to be out in ten days and hence, fans are eagerly awaiting the same. An update is likely to be revealed on the occasion of Republic Day (January 26). There are talks going around that Thalapathy67 too will be part of the LCU (Lokesh Cinematic Universe).

Speculations are rife that Trisha will be playing the leading lady in the film. When the actress was asked about the same during the promotions of her last outing Raangi, the actress remained tightlipped about the same. She said that we can talk about it next year. However, she said that a lot of people have expressed their wish that the hit pair Vijay and Trisha team up again for a film. The duo had worked together in Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aathi and Kuruvi. If they do reunite, they will be seen on screen after a span of 14 years.

Vijay's Pongal release Varisu has been going steady in theatres and the film has been declared a complete paisa vasool at the box office and its collections are now marching towards Rs 200 crore. Varisu, directed by Vamshi Paidipally and bankrolled by Dil Raju, has received mixed reviews at the box office, while some likening it to a TV soap.
