The Batman director Matt Reeves recently spoke about whether or not Superman or any other DC superheroes would make it to a sequel.
"I suppose it's not impossible to believe that somewhere down the line they could connect to something else, but that was not my interest in this, and it's not my interest in what we would do in follow-ups at the moment, either," he told Collider.
Reeves said that he intends to bring "a fresh and different version" of the DC characters in The Batman with the help of "this incredible cast and this incredible crew."
"There are a lot of great characters in the Gotham world and so the idea of leaning into that, that's really my interest right now," he added.
The filmmaker explained that his version of Batman is a "practical, believable" version, so introducing Superman, an alien with superpowers, "would be a shock." He cited how his previous films Planet of the Apes films and Cloverfield included fantastical elements.
He would take a similar route, by including just one such element, to introduce Batman in the Batverse. However, that is not his intention right now, Reeves told Collider.
The Batman stars Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell. The film is set to release in India in English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil on March 4.
