To say that Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman film is one of the most anticipated superhero films of the year would not be an exaggeration. The film has been the talk of the town ever since it was revealed that Robert Pattinson has been chosen to carry forward the legacy of the caped vigilante, and longtime fans just cannot wait to see how the actor, who certainly has big shoes to fill, does justice to the role. The NBA All-Star Celebrity Games, which took place recently, offered a surprise to Batman fans when a brand new promo for the upcoming film aired during the game.

The promo began in style, with the words ‘unmask the truth’, interrupting a game ad with a shadowy figure of the superhero landing on the big screen as a bat signal flashes in the cloudy skies. Rife with blink and you’ll miss its high octane action from start to finish, the short promo features the titular superhero soaring through the skies, barely escaping explosions and ruthlessly beating up bad guys.

Watch the new promo below:

The teaser features Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and his vigilante alter ego, Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Gotham PD’s James Gordon, Paul Dano as the film’s main antagonist The Riddler, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell as Penguin. Matt Reeves has directed the upcoming film from a script, written by himself and Peter Craig. In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Pattinson had opened up about his transformation in the film sharing an anecdote of what happened when he tried to ‘do things differently’ with the superhero’s iconic voice .

The Batman will release in theatres on March 4, 2022.
