Release date and trailer of The Gentlemen

Marn Davies, Ivan Atkinson, and Marc Helwig of Miramax TV, and Will Gould and Frith Tiplady of Moonage Pictures join Read and Ritchie in executive production of The Gentlemen series. The show will premiere all 8 episodes on Netflix on March 7, 2024. The Gentlemen has also dropped a teaser and a trailer for the show, addint to the anticipation around it.

Plot of The Gentlemen

The Gentlemen follows the story of Eddie Horniman, played by Theo James, who unexpectedly inherits his father’s sizeable country family estate only to discover it as the front of a huge cannabis empire. And all the top criminals of the British underbelly have come crawling out for a piece of the fresh meat’s profit.

Eddie may not agree with the illegal activities in his heart, but he seems born for the life of luxury and illicit business with a cigar and top-shelf whisky in hand. And though he is determined to play the gangsters at their own game and extricate his family safely from their clutches, he becomes further embroiled in a world of criminality and begins to develop a taste for it.

The trailers offer a peek at the fun and luxurious aspects of the series, at its fancy soirees and business games, with champagne, caviar, cannabis and cocaine being common fodder. The Gentlemen also maintains the refreshingly eclectic and dark comedy that is a trademark of Guy Ritchie, despite his versatility.

Cast of The Gentlemen

Other than Theo James, The Gentlemen also stars Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito, Chanel Cresswell, Michael Vu, Max Beesley, Harry Goodwins, Dar Salim, Jasmine Blackborrow, Ruby Sear, Pearce Quigley, and Peter Serafinowicz. The original film had starred Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Pearson, a cannabis empire leader who wishes to sell his business and faces deadly conflict while doing it.
