The Immortal Ashwatthama: Jaideep Ahlawat approached for a key role in the Vicky Kaushal-starrer

Jaideep Ahlawat recently wowed audiences in the Netflix anthology Ajeeb Dasstaans opposite Fatima Sana Shaikh. The actor has now been approached to play a significant character in Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan starrer, The Immortal Ashwatthama.

According to a report on Pinkvilla, a source close to the team recently revealed that the upcoming Aditya Dhar directorial is a multi-starrer and will feature many actors in pivotal roles. “For one such role, Aditya has approached Jaideep. The latter has liked the script and the character too, however, nothing is finalised yet. The makers hope to finalise their cast soon, as the film is expected to roll from September,” the source revealed.

Vicky Kaushal and Jaideep Ahlawat have previously worked together in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi, which also stars Alia Bhatt.

The Pinkvilla report also mentions that the Masaan star has been prepping for the film, getting trained in archery, sword-fighting, spear-fighting and martial arts. Sara is also learning a few forms of martial arts, including MMA, for her hardcore action sequences in the upcoming film.

The filmmaker, who earlier worked with Vicky in his directorial debut film Uri: The Surgical Strike, shared a few posters of the modern-day superhero film in January 2021. In one of the Instagram posters, Aditya mentioned that the upcoming movie will raise the bar of the superhero genre across the world. The director also revealed that the film has high-concept visuals and features Vicky in the titular character.
