The Impossible Heir Story

Episodes 3 and 4 of The Impossible Heir delves into the intricate web of Kangoh Group’s business plans and their dysfunctional relationships. The episodes begin with another 5-year time leap and the celebration of the Kangoh empire’s business venture, ‘Co-prosperity Cooperation Centre.’

Han Tae-Oh becomes a confidante of the chairman, pointing him at the center of jealousy and conspiracies, while his partner In-ha also grabs the opportunity and becomes a part of a mutual deal with his father. He also demands to know the status of the third son, but the chairman ignores him as usual. Meanwhile, Seung-joo and Jo Sundong team up and pose a threat to the chairman, followed by their malicious intent to enforce embezzlement charges against him.

The recently aired episodes also introduce some new characters, like Hee-joo's fiance, Jo Sundong, and a mysterious hacker. In-ha (the illegitimate son) also proposes marriage to Hye-won, who accepts the proposal while discarding feelings for Han Tae-Oh.

The Impossible Heir Episodes 3 and 4 Review

Lee Jae Wook, Lee Jun Young, and Hong Su Zu’s trio as the three underdogs fails to keep the momentum going. Despite the star-studded ensemble, the thriller looks dull and monotonous with its slow-paced drama, especially in Episode 3.

With multiple time gaps and leaps all focused on business projects, Impossible Heir deviates from its original revenge and power struggle themes and feels like a half-hearted narrative.

The plotline seems to be overstuffed with business jargon and conspiracies without solid character development. Even the main leads feel void of emotion and have a formidable plotline or backstory. The episodes are poorly executed as a result of overediting in the scenes.

The Impossible Heir Verdict

Unless you’re a big fan of business thrillers or Lee Jae-wook, The Impossible Heir can be skipped, as it is becoming less interesting with each episode. Sometimes, the 1-hour watch time feels like torture to stream a complicated story that is trying to be fancy but ends up losing its thrill with each new episode.

The Impossible Heir is available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
