Sudesh Lehri of The Kapil Sharma Show fame has opened up about his tough childhood. The actor recalled how there was a time when he would sell tea but not have the means to make the beverage at his own home. This was back when he did not do schooling but went to work because of his family’s financial status.

The actor was the latest guest on Maniesh Paul’s podcast, where he made the revelations. Sudesh took up various odd jobs, one of which was selling tea.

“I used to make tea but mere ghar pe chai nahi banti thi,” he recalled. The actor then elaborated on how he had to work for just one cup of tea. He would carry 5-6 cups of tea in one hand and a kettle in another hand. Sudhesh would roam barefoot with that in a factory, waiting to serve tea and earn a little money. He would then sneak out, find a corner, grab a cup for himself, wash it and then go on with work.

Apart from tea stall, Sudesh Lehri also worked in sweet shops and slippers factory. He would also sell kulfi and vegetables.

In fact, Sudesh says that selling vegetables taught him how to act. “That actually was a practical workshop for me as an actor,” he told Maniesh.

Since Sudesh had a family to support since childhood, he never got an opportunity to go to an actual school and study. He said he missed having that in his life.

It is why Sudesh struggles with English a little. Interestingly, Kapil Sharma is also known for his broken English. Sudesh’s broken English, however, cost him dearly. He wanted to demand fifty thousand rupees as fees but ended up demanding fifteen thousand since the actor did not know the difference between them. Eventually, he had to joke and take home Rs. 35,000 lesser back home.
