The Kashmir Files has been putting up a strong performance at the box office ever since its release on March 11. So it came as no surprise when news broke out that the film had entered the Rs 200 crore club, two weeks after its release, becoming the highest grossing film of the year. Anupam kher, who stars in the Vivek Agnihotri directorial recently penned an emotional note to celebrate the success of the film.
Kher took to his official Instagram handle to make a post, in which he recounted his personal journey. In the note, he talked about his humble beginnings and of his father, Pushkar Nath. kher talked of how he had done over 500 films in the span of his 38 year long career and how hard he had worked on his latest film, The Kashmir Files as well. He also mentioned that his character in the film, also named Pushkar Nath, was given the name as a tribute to his father. The actor also thanked the makers of the film in his post.

The Kashmir Files is based on the exodus of Kashmiri pandits that took place in the 1990s. The film had received praise from stars such as Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Yami Gautam and more. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too had voiced his appreciation for the film.
In addition to Kher, the film also features Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty, Chinmay Mandlekar,Puneet Issar, Mrinal Kulkarni and Atul Srivastava. The film’s streaming rights has reportedly been bagged by ZEE5, although an official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made.
