The Kashmir Files is a box-office tsunami that no trade pundit or industry expert could foresee and even went onto dent the prospects of the Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Pandey at the theatres. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the filmmaker who last directed The Tashkent Files, the film focusing on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 featured Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and others in the lead. The blockbuster was bankrolled by Hyderabad-based producer Abhishek Agarwal.
Now, after the terrific success of The Kashmir Files, its director Vivek Agnihotri and producer Abhishek Agarwal will yet again reunite for two more films. "Abhishek Agarwal Arts and I am Buddha Production reunite to tell two more great and brutally honest tales of humanity on the big screen," the media statement issued by the makers reads. The films will be a joint production between Abhishek Agarwal and Vivek Agnihotri's home banner I am Buddha Production.
Abhishek Agarwal, Vivek (Ranjan) Agnihotri and Pallavi Joshi will produce these two films while Tej Narayan Agarwal will be presenter. The announcement was made commemorating Abhishek Agarwal's birthday today. More details about the projects will be announced shortly. Meanwhile, the theatrical run of The Kashmir Files is coming to a close, with the drama having raked in over Rs 350 crore at the box office. Abhishek Agarwal is also producing a pan-Indian film with Ravi Teja next, Tiger Nageswara Rao, directed by Vamsee.
