The Kashmir Files has not only taken down Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey at the Box Office but is now a step closer to beat the records set by his film Sooryavanshi too. For the uninitiated, Sooryavanashi is 2022’s highest-grossing film till date. The movie crossed Rs. 200 crore mark at the Box Office which now appears an easy feat for The Kashmir Files too.
The Vivek Agnihotri directed film has performed well on its second Monday, even if lesser than expected. The movie was expected to mint Rs. 13-14 crores but it has earned Rs. 12.50 crores at the Box Office.
The early collections for The Kashmir Files appeared favourable to the film and thus, it was expected to touch almost Rs. 15 crore, which was The Kashmir Files’ first Monday Box Office collection but that did not happen which is also quite normal for a second week Box Office. The second Monday collections were in fact good since it went down only 17% from last Monday.
The total business for The Kashmir Files is currently approximately Rs. 180 (Rs. 179.89) crores. The movie is expected to beat Sooryavanshi in two more days.
The Kashmir Files has minted over Rs. 50 crores in the Delhi and UP belt itself. The movie might even be on its way to beat Baahubali: The Conclusion’s Box Office collections in these areas.
The second week collection, from Friday to Monday, for The Kashmir Files, currently stands at Rs. 83.75 crores. The film’s collections picked up over the weekend. It minted Rs. 25 crores on Saturday and Rs. 26.50 crores on Sunday.
The movie had earned Rs. 96.14 crores in its first week. However, going by the current trend, The Kashmir Files might end up earning nearly Rs. 120 crores in its second week, which is a record in itself.
The Kashmir Files is expected to enter and cross Rs. 300 crore nett mark (it could mint Rs. 500 crore gross). The movie has managed to beat Bollywood bigwicks like Alia Bhatt (‘s Gangubai Kathiawadi) and Akshay Kumar (‘s Bachchhan Paandey) at the Box Office. Now, the movie will face competition from RRR or vice-versa. The coming Friday will prove which movie stands out over the other.
