Army Officers, politicians and Kashmiri Pandits were invited for the special screening of the film held in Jammu

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files starring Anupam Kher is fast approaching its release. The filmmaker yesterday hosted a special screening of the exodus drama in Jammu.
The Kashmir File’s special screening was attended by influential personalities, politicians, Army Officers and known Kashmiri Pandits. The movie is based on the lives of Kashmiri Pandits and is inspired by true events.
As reported by India Today, the film received huge response, recognition and admiration from the viewers following its screening. The makers also spend time with the viewers talking to them and taking feedback into account.
Written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the film stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Chinmay Mandlekar, Puneet Issar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Atul Srivastava, Prithviraj Sarnaik, Bhasha Sumbli and Prakash Belawadi.
The movie is backed by Zee Studios and Abhishek Agarwal Arts and is set to release in theatres on March 11. The film was earlier set to release on Republic day this year, but was held back due to the Omicron variant spread.
Talking about his film in February, director Agnihotri mentioned that bringing this story to theatres is not easy and it has been handled with a great deal of sensitivity. "This film promises to be an eye-opener and with a talented ensemble cast, audiences can revisit this incident in Indian history through this raw and real narrative," added the filmmaker
The film narrates the story of the exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits that took place in the 1990s. The film’s trailer, which came out in February, hinted at an intense and hard hitting movie.
