Before the release of The Kerala Story, Sudipto Sen used to maintain a lowkey in the industry. But the director, hailing from Jalpaiguri, is a household name now, owing to his film, which is the second-highest-grossing film of the year. Amidst this success, Sudipto Sen made another deal with Sandeep Singh, producer of the film Savarkar.
A few days back, the teaser of the film Savarkar, directed by and starring Randeep Hooda, was released and it incited controversies. It was mentioned in the biopic that Savarkar was an inspiration to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, and Khudiram. That displeased many people, including Swastika Mukherjee. Many took to social media to protest this claim. Now, Sandeep will invest in the Bengali director's film.
Sandeep worked in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's production house for a long time. He was a friend of Sushant Singh Rajput. He later produced biopics like Mary Kom, Sarbajit, and PM Narendra Modi. he is also producing the ex-PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s biopic Main Atal Hoon in which Pankaj Tripathi will play Vajpayee in the film. However, neither Sandeep nor Sudipto wants to divulge what their collaboration will produce.
The Kerala Story, a film dealing with religious conversion, has already made nearly 240 crores in 35 days. The film will soon be released on OTT. It is being heard that ZEE5 bought the rights and will show the film from June end.
