The Kerala Story OTT release date - The hard-hitting, theatrical sensation to release on ZEE5 on THIS date.
When The Kerala Story was released in theaters, it generated a lot of interest because it earned more than 300 crores at the box office worldwide and had strong national support. High expectations were raised for the movie's over-the-top (OTT) distribution after its phenomenal box office performance. Now that ZEE5 has acquired global digital rights, The Kerala Story is scheduled to debut in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam on the platform on February 16, 2024.
Three girls—Shalini (Adah Sharma), Nimah (Yogita Bihani), and Geetanjali (Siddhi Idnani)—are the focus of the movie. Asifa (Sonia Balani), their roommate, manipulates them into changing their religion. The film is split into two halves: the first portion describes how the girls were tricked into becoming members of a terrorist organization, and the second part follows Shalini's journey as Fatima Ba, a converted terrorist, and her captivity in Afghanistan.
The film also demonstrates how males were indoctrinated to seduce Kerala's Hindu and Christian women under the pretext of love, convert them, and persuade them to join combat zones. The alleged startling events happened in 2018–19, when certain number of youngsters in Kerala were influenced by terrorist organizations.
The movie managed to make an incredible Rs. 242.20 crores in India even though the movie didn't have a single major actor attached to it. The Kerala Story is the second-highest-grossing movie at the box office in 2023, behind Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan. Despite having a budget of about ₹15–20 crore, this film became an international hit, earning an astounding ₹300 crore at the box office.
The film had important roles played by Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Bilani, Siddhi Idnani, Devadarshini, and Vijay Krishna. The Sunshine Pictures film is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by Sudipto Sen.
