The 52nd International Film Festival of Goa has started from November 20,m and has been held at full fledgedly at Goa, India. The much anticipated western drama The Power of the Dog starring Benedict Cumberbatch had its Indian premier at the festival.
The movie was screened as the mid-film festival at this edition of IFFI and it did not disappoint. The show, which was screened at screen 1 at the Inox complex in Panjim, garnered a packed house.
The movie was received with warm applause after its screening, with the delegates finding the Jane Campion movie a treat, which also saw some engaging performances from its lead actors.
The 52nd edition of India's oldest film festival began with a 50% screening capacity owing to the pandemic precautions. This rule was scrapped on the third day as all shows were allowed a full capacity.
The Power of the Dog is a highly anticipated movie which is set to be released on Netflix on December 1. Directed by Jane Campion, the western drama stars Cumberbatch, Kristen Dunst and Jesse Plemons in the lead roles.

The movie, which is set in 1925 Montana, tells an engaging tale of wealthy ranch owner brothers Phil and George Burban, as they meet widow and inn owner Rose Gordon when they and their workers stay at her inn after a cattle drive.
