The promotions for Vikram began in Bigg Boss Tamil itself: Kamal Haasan
Vikram success meet

The success meet for Kamal Haasan's recent release Vikram, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, was held recently in Chennai. During the meet, the film's distributor in Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, had announced that the film's collection had surpassed 75 crore in the state and and that theatres continue to be houseful even as the film has entered third week of release.

Kamal Haasan said that though the film has become hugely successful, the success didn't come easy as people toiled hard for it. "This success was not easy and I wouldnt take it lightly. I would still like to be on the edge of the seat, just like the audience during the film."

When the film's director Lokesh Kanagaraj and many others credited Kamal Haasan as the biggest reason for the film's success, he, said, "I cannot be considered the biggest factor for the success of the film. The credit for the success goes to each and everyone involved in it. Look at Anirudh. He could pass off as a college student. Anirudh and his team would work hard until sunrise. Only then they would rest. They showed some mercy on me and left me by around 2 am in the morning. Likewise, Lokesh has a team around him, so is theatre owners, distributors, the credit goes to each and everyone in the film. Even if one of them had showed lack of interest, the film would have tanked."

Kamal added that the promotions for Vikram began in Bigg Boss Tamil itself, the reality show for which he is the host. "When I signed Bigg Boss, many people ridiculed me. Some well wishers said that venturing into the small screen was a bad idea. I even started doubting my decision at one point of time, but I am glad I came out of it. I realised that their thoughts were confined to the big screen. The promotions for Vikram began in Bigg Boss itself. One has to constantly keep your presence felt, else because people tend to forget. Forgetfulness is a national diseasse and I am quoting a dialogue from my own film. "
