The makers of the upcoming movie, Theatre: The Myth of Reality, have announced an update on the release of its trailer, much to the delight of Malayalam film enthusiasts. It has been confirmed that the trailer will be launched at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival – Marché du Film in France, which began on May 13.

A teaser for Theatre: The Myth of Reality revealed about its official trailer launch at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, which will conclude on May 24. Biriyani fame Sajin Baabu is the writer and director of Theatre. 

Sajin Baabu explores vanishing customs in our society and feminine mysticism in this movie. In the teaser, viewers get a look at the main characters of this movie, along with the superstitions they deal with in spite of living in a world that seems to have moved on with present times. Theatre tells the tale of a remote community that struggles with change, and the shifting nature of the limits between reality and belief. the film is expected to have a theatrical release following its run in various film festivals.

Cast of Theatre: The Myth of Reality

Sarasa Balussery and Sarasa Kallingal play the lead roles in Theatre. Ann Saleem, Dain Davis, Pramod Veliyanad, Akhil Kavalayoor, Krishnan Balakrishnan, Megha Rajan, Balaji Sharma, D Raguthaman, Meenakshi Raveendran, Aparna Sen, Lakshmi Padma, Meena Rajan, Ratheesh Rohini, RJ Anjali, Ashwathy, and Arun Sol are among the supporting cast of the film. Rima Kallingal was the recipient of the 2025 Kerala Film Critics Award for Best Actress category for her nuanced act in this movie. Rima, who is known for her films such as 22 Female Kottayam and Indian Rupee, had also ventured into production recently with works such as Virus and Neelavelicham. ‘Theatre’ is produced by Anjana Philip and Philip Zackaria, under the banner of Anjana Talkies.
