Fans are excited for the arrival of Thor: Love and Thunder, starring Chris Hemsworth. The film will be the fourth standalone Thor movie. The movie’s director, Taika Waititi has now revealed that he would love to see an Indian superhero in the MCU.

Talking to ETimes, the filmmaker was asked whether fans could get to see an Indian touch in his next movie, considering the inclusivity his movies have had.

“Yeah, I'd love that. Why not? At this stage, anything goes. There are no rules anymore. We can do whatever we want. I'd love a New Zealand superhero, I'd love to have an Indian superhero, we need native American superheroes. Wherever we go, people complain about immigrants. Can you imagine the flavour of food without them?(sic),” he replied.

Waititi also had big praise for Indian cuisine, saying that without Indian food in the USA or England, people would be eating soggy vegetables and flavourless sausages.

The New Zealand filmmaker and actor also talked about the similarities that fans felt between Gorr and Thanos after watching the movie’s trailer. He said that he did not feel this because he never saw Thanos as a father, and that in his movie, the emotions of Gorr as a father is felt.

Thor: Love and Thunder is the second time, Waititi is helming an MCU movie, after having previously impressed fans with Thor: Ragnarok. The latest Thor movie has Chris Hemsworth reprise his role as the God of Thunder, while Christian Bale essay the role of Gorr the God Butcher.

Also starring Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Russell Crowe, and Natalie Portman, Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theatres in India on July 7.
