Thudarum: MG Sreekumar says Mohanlal-Shobana film is ‘beautiful’ and will be ‘100% hit’ - ‘Whatever you wish...’

The Mohanlal-starrer Thudarum is a special film for fans of Malayalam cinema as it reunites the superstar with Shobana after a hiatus. The much-awaited film, directed by Tharun Moorthy, did not keep its release date of January 30, 2025, and fans are eagerly waiting to see their favourite onscreen pair back in theatres. And now adding to the excitement, MG Sreekumar, who has sung a song in Thudaram, has vouched that the Mohanlal-starrer is 'beautiful' and will be a '100 per hit'.

The team of Thudarum had recently released the song Kanmanipoove, sung by MG Sreekumar, that is already amassing a good number of likes on YouTube. MG Sreekumar recently spoke about the hit prospects of Thudarum in a chat, released on his own YouTube channel.

"It is a beautiful film, (will be) 100 per cent hit. I saw most of the film, that's why I am saying. Whatever you want (to see), is there in the movie. It has emotional scenes and more," MG Sreekumar said, while adding that he cannot speak more about the film. 

But the National Award-winning singer did mention that the makers got a subject when viewers were talking about missing the ‘vintage Mohanlal’. 

Sreekumar’s songs for Mohanlal

For those of you who are unfamiliar with yesteryear Malayalam cinema, MG Sreekumar has sung many songs for Mohanlal films that are still popular among the fans. Songs from Chithram, Karutha Penne from Thenmavin Kombath, and Vel Muruga Haro Hara from Naran are some of the hit songs of Mohanlal and MG Sreekumar. 

Mohanlal-Sobhana films

Mohanlal and Sobhana have starred together in several Malayalam films in the past, especially in the 80s and 90s, such as Minnaram, Thenmavin Kombath, Pavithram, and Nadodikattu. They also acted in the iconic Manichitrathazhu but were not paired opposite each other. 

Meanwhile, the team of Thudarum is yet to officially announce the release date for the much-awaited Malayalam film though reports claim that the Mohanlal-starrer could be a summer release of 2025.
