Netflix India recently announced its star-studded slate for 2025. Several big projects like The Ba***ds of Bollywood, Delhi Crime 3, Nadaaniyan, and more were announced. However, Triptii Dimri and Vijay Varma's spy thriller, Afghan Snow, wasn't announced at the grand event in Mumbai. Produced by Karnesh Sharma's Clean Slate Filmz, the series was reportedly delivered to the OTT giant in December 2023. Despite that, it was missing from the slate announcement. Wondering why? Let's find out...
According to a Mid-Day report, the streaming giant is considering making some changes to the spy thriller, featuring Triptii Dimri and Vijay Varma. The series has been directed by filmmaker Anshai Lal. An actor, who is a part of the series, shared an update about the same.
"Afghan Snow has been given to Netflix, and the team is contemplating re-editing the show and even shooting additional parts as they deem fit. I’m told it will release later this year. Many titles will be added to the streamer’s slate beyond the ones announced on Monday," the actor said, on condition of anonymity.
A few sources told the tabloid that the show was completed in December 2023. However, there were reportedly some creative differences between the streamer and the makers. As per the report, the crew members had to struggle with delayed payments.
"Our payments took very long to get cleared. While some got the full payment eventually, for many of us, the final tranche will come upon release. We were expecting the show to be announced on Monday evening," a person from Aghan Snow's unit shared. As far as Karnesh's production house is concerned, Clean Slate Filmz is expected to be re-launched with a new name.
In the past, Clean Slate Filmz had successful collaborations with Netflix India with projects like Bulbul and Qala. It remains to be seen what happens with Afghan Snow.
