Two Malayalam actresses revealed on their social media pages that they were sexually harassed during the promotions of the movie titled Saturday Night at a mall in Kozhikode on Tuesday evening.
The popular actress took to her page to say that she had faced an untoward incident that had left her numb. While leaving the venue after the event, a person from the crowd had touched her inappropriately, she posted.
“Are people around us for frustrated?” she asked, adding that the film’s team had been touring the State for its promotions the past week and she had not faced such an incident anywhere else. The actress, who said that she’s still in a state of shock and numbness, asked, “Are you perverts done?”
Soon after the actress’ post, another actress from the team also shared that she too encountered a “similar act of misogyny”.
While the first actress said that she was too numb to even react, the latter said she “reacted to it in shock”. “I wish no one has to face this kind of unwanted trauma in their life,” she said, adding that they will taking legal action against the individuals. “… for violence against women there will be consequences and actions against these misogynistic individuals,” she wrote.
The promotions of the Rosshan Andrrews’ directorial were held at a mall in Kozhikode, which was jam packed. Nivin Pauly and Aju Varghese were some of the celebs that had attended the function at the venue, which was previously in the news when the crowd that gathered in August during the promotions of Tovino Thomas’ Thallumaala had prevented the team from even entering the mall, much less hold the event.
