With Thalapathy Vijay wrapping up the portions for his upcoming film, Varisu, helmed by Vamsi Paidipally, the buzz around his next with director Lokesh Kanagaraj is only growing stronger. The film, which is tentatively being referred to as #Thalapathy67, will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, with whom Vijay had earlier teamed up for Master.
The latest we hear about the much-awaited film is that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is likely to play a cameo in the film. Lokesh Kanagaraj had earlier directed Kamal Haasan in one of the biggest hits of Tamil cinema, Vikram. However, the team is yet to make an official announcement of the same.
It was recently that there was a buzz that the OTT rights of the film have been bagged by a leading digital platform, that too, even before a formal announcement of the film. We hear that Netflix has bagged the rights of the action entertainer for a whopping Rs 160 crore.
Trisha is likely to play the leading lady in the film, while Sanjay Dutt is said to be playing the antagonist. The star cast is likely to include Nivin Pauly, Vishal, Gautham Menon and Malayalam actor Mathew George of Jo and Jo fame. The shoot for the film is likely to begin in December, according to director Lokesh Kanagaraj's interview to a leading channel.
Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master is an action entertainer that had an ensemble cast with Vijay Sethupathi as the prime antagonist and Malavika Menon as the leading lady. The supporting cast includes Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das, Gouri G Kishan, Azhagam Perumal, Ciby Bhuvana Chandran, Ramya Subramaniam, Arun Alexander and Ramesh Thilak and Poovaiayar. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography is by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Philomin Raj. The film raked in the moolah at the box office and opened to positive reviews. Vijay Sethupathi's role as Bhavani became a rage among fans.
